XS 650 TIPS & TRICKS

UNLEADED FUEL

Here is some information on running your XS650 on unleaded fuel which I received from Tony Hall at Halco Tuning, with Tony's kind permission I am able to reproduce this information sheet on here for you to look at, please remember this is only advice, and any decision you make on what fuel to run your XS on, is entirely your own. I personally have been running my own XS650 D on shell super-unleaded ( 98 ron ) and have done about 2000 miles so far, not much to base conclusive test on I know but I have not had any problems with valve wear, starting, idling, no flat spots and still have great acceleration. All the best on your decision.

Ps; Being a car mechanic I have started to notice that vehicles running on LRP fuel are showing signs of running hotter, more suspect to pinking, spark plugs wearing out quicker and are more fiddly to obtain an even idling speed. So in my opinion I would not use LRP in any motorbike of mine, being a shooting man I say there is NO substitute for LEAD................
